Lauren is the founder and CEO of YoGolf Performance, Golf's online Yoga studio. Lauren is a 500 hour registered Yoga Teacher and also is a Nationally certified Pilates teacher with specializations including : Katherine Roberts Human Performance for Athletes Instructor Yoga For Golfers Level 2 Instructor and a Yoga for Seniors Instructor. Lastly Lauren is a Certified T.P.I. expert and is a member of the National Association of Certified Yoga Teachers.
When we play Golf, there's a lot on twisting and bending that can potentially put a ton of pressure of not only our major joints and muscle groups. If we don’t look after ourselves properly and prepare the body to handle the loads of the swing motion, we’re asking for trouble. Yoga can certainly help increase range of motion, stability and strength.
In this episode, Lauren and I talk about this very phenomenon. Not only does a Golf specific Yoga program help the player, potentially Yoga can meld mind, body and spirit on the Golf course. It seems to me that the better your feel holistically, the more likely one is going to play pain-free and hence, play better.
